Great Detail
More to the story than I ever knew. Great from start to finish. Amazing that you get to go back to following him live after this book. Narration was ok not great.

Genius overexposed
This story is at times almost too revealing. It's like "watching" a train-wreck. Most of the info is common knowledge (to vested golfers) however getting the personal side of events and intimate details is almost cringeworthy.
If I have a criticism, the narrator (and editing) becomes distracting from the riveting storyline. From mispronounced names (see V'jay Singh most annoyingly) to changes in volume and/or edits where it's clear the narrator added script afterwards. I'm not trying to be critical but it was distracting. A professional voice actor would have made this 5* all around.

For golf fans, definitely worth reading
The book seems like a critique of childhood prodigies, and what pushes them to greatness. The author is definitely critical of wood's parents, and wood's very selfish behaviour that they instilled in him. But no question, golf requires an almost super human level of confidence in yourself to succeed, and there is no question that he wouldn't have been winning majors at the age of 21 without that super human level of confidence. So like a Rose, this beautiful flower had spikes on it, should we be surprised?
ultimately the downfall plays out like a drama, the book will fly by before you know it. its a great read, and any golf fan (even a remote golf fan) would enjoy it.
I appreciate the author's sympatheic approach to tigers struggles later in the book. The man's life exploded on national TV, and none of us should take joy in that. Huge ups means potential for huge downs, and this book has extra meaning now that tiger has won another Masters (2019) and broke sam sneads record for 82 tournaments won - he is rebounding up and gaining balance in his life that he never got as a child. It would be great if the book is expanded in a few years with a last chapter if he does break jack Nicklaus's major record, and talk about the changes and positive steps he has made in his life.
my critique of the book - there are points where the audio voice almost changes like they were inserting in new facts or names after the fact. it happened enough to make me wish it wasn't happening, but not enough to spoil the book. The author's voice would very abrubptly change in volume and tone from chapter to chapter. It's nice for a listener when its fluid and consistent.

Well worth it!
Great to hear the history of Tiger from the perspective of those around him. The narration was engaging and I could go on to listen more!

Wonderfully Read.
Loved the writing and reading of this story. I was fully engaged even though I’m not a golf fan. There seems to be a lot of research behind this book. Would recommend it to anyone.
