À propos de cet audio
Time Enough for Love is the capstone and crowning achievement of Heinlein's famous Future History series.
Lazarus Long is so in love with life that he simply refuses to die. Born in the early 1900s, he lives through multiple centuries, his love for time ultimately causing him to become his own ancestor. Time Enough for Loveis his lovingly detailed account of his journey through a vast and magnificent timescape of centuries and worlds. Using the voice of Lazarus, Heinlein expounds his own philosophies, including his radical ideas on sexual freedom. His use of slang, technical jargon, sharp wit, and clever understatement lend this story a texture and authority that seems the very tone of things to come.

Histoire
After the fall of the American Ayatollahs as foretold in Stranger in a Strange Land and chronicled in Revolt in 2100, the United States of America at last fulfills the promise inherent in its first Revolution: for the first time in human history there is a nation with Liberty and Justice for All. No one may seize or harm the person or property of another, or invade his privacy, or force him to do his bidding. Americans are fiercely proud of their re-won liberties and the blood it cost them; nothing could make them forswear those truths they hold self-evident. Nothing except the promise of immortality…

Histoire
In what is considered one of Heinlein's most hair-raising, thought-provoking, and outrageous adventures, the master of modern science fiction tells the strange story of an even stranger world. It is 21st-century Luna, a harsh penal colony where a revolt is plotted between a bashful computer and a ragtag collection of maverick humans, a revolt that goes beautifully until the inevitable happens. But that's the problem with the inevitable: it always happens.

Stranger in a Strange Land is the epic saga of an earthling, Valentine Michael Smith, born and educated on Mars, who arrives on our planet with “psi” powers—telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, telekinesis, teleportation, pyrolysis, and the ability to take control of the minds of others—and complete innocence regarding the mores of man. After his tutelage under a surrogate father figure, Valentine begins his transformation into a kind of messiah.

Histoire
Robert A. Heinlein wrote The Number of the Beast, which was published in 1980. In the book Zeb, Deety, Hilda, and Jake are ambushed by the alien "Black Hats" and barely escape with their lives on a specially configured vehicle (the Gay Deceiver) which can travel along various planes of existence, allowing them to visit parallel universes. However, unknown to most fans, Heinlein had already written a "parallel" novel about the four characters and parallel universes in 1977.

Histoire
Robert A. Heinlein is widely and justly regarded as the greatest practitioner of the art of science fiction who has ever lived. Here are two of his greatest short novels: Gulf, in which the greatest super-spy of them all is revealed as the leader of a league of supermen and women who can’t quite decide what to do with the rest of us. And Lost Legacy, in which it is proved that we are all members of that league - or would be, if we but had eyes to see.

Histoire
In a distant galaxy of colonized planets, the atrocity of slavery is alive and well. Young Thorby was just another bedraggled orphan boy sold at auction, but his new owner, Baslim, is not the disabled beggar he appears to be. Adopting Thorby as his son, Baslim fights relentlessly as an abolitionist spy. When the authorities close in on Baslim, Thorby must find his own way in a hostile galaxy. Joining with the Free Traders, a league of merchant princes, Thorby must find the courage to live by his wits and fight his way up from society's lowest rung.

The Narrator Is Awful
I skipped most of the second half of the book, because the narrator mispronounced too many words. I found it very irritating.
They didn't do justice to the story at all.

This is a story that makes you consider
I enjoy this story because it makes me contemplate the direction of the human race. It is very insightful but will also offend in places. Heinlein has accurately predicted the tragic but perhaps logical disaster that is current situation on earth.

a collection of good stories.
essentially a collection of short stories, told by one character to the others. a career military biography from the 1920s, a freed slave story from the far future, a pioneer western on a virgin planet, a time travel adventure, and all of this is in-service to a character study for a 3000 year old man.
the story deals with some interesting concepts. fairly strong themes of free love, jealousy being outmoded and unnecessary and what not; if you read stranger in a strange land you kinda know what to expect. it fits considering the fiction is speculating on a society that lives essentially forever.
go in with the understanding that Lazarus is supposed to be somewhat backwards. some old fashioned views on display. I'm pretty sure it's not trying to advertise anything too bad, as some of the characters comment on the absurdity of some of the things he says; but I've also heard Heinlein was a libertarian, so whatever. it did not ruin it for me, considering Lazarus was born in 1912 it fits the character. people need to chill.

Worth your time,
Heinlein is always interesting. And I enjoyed this book even if some parts felt wrong and strange on hearing. A brilliant narrator who portrays the characters perfectly.

Slow pace and romanticizes rape
Bored and offended. The word rape is used repeatedly as a positive concept. It is supposed to be a glimpse in to the future. I’d like to think that is not where we are headed.
It seemed like a good idea for a book but somehow the pace and the style of writing made it move at a glacial pace. Could have benefited from cutting out about 1/3 of the lentwords. I did finish the entire book because it was recommended by someone I know well.
