À propos de cet audio

A lesbian romance trilogy from best-selling author Harper Bliss.

Two Hearts Alone: In the small town of Donovan Grove, Anna Gunn's life is organized just the way she likes it: work from home, walks with her dog, Friday night drinks at the bar. But Anna's strict routine is challenged when the local bookstore is taken over by city slicker Zoe Perez.

Two Hearts Together: After finding their way to each other, Zoe and Anna must now navigate the waves of a budding relationship and the scrutiny that comes with living in a small town.

Two Hearts Forever: After overcoming their difficulties, Anna and Zoe are nurturing their relationship, letting it grow slowly but surely. When a surprise visitor shows up in Donovan Grove, things threaten to go off course. Or will the unexpected circumstances help Anna and Zoe grow closer to each other?

Contains mature themes.

a beautifully told story

as someone with autism, it's nice to hear a story from Anna's point of view. it really hits close to home with the anxieties that she has to deal with, and I hope I can find another story like this soon

Autism focused romance

This book has raw vulnerability and honest communication in a way that was, to me, unexpectedly personal to the author. I applaud her for digging deep in that way; I've done it with my poetry, even if it was usually buried in metaphors and imagery, and it's not easy to do emotionally speaking.

I almost didn't give this a listen because it's so short and described as a trilogy, but while it may have originally been written as three long short stories or short novellas (that's my guess at least), it reads more as a single book in three parts. I'm glad I gave it a chance. I love Anna and Zoe, even if Zoe really does seem too good to be true at times. It does a good job of portraying how autism can put bumps in the road, for both people, in figuring out how to fit together in a romantic relationship.

I'll also say that while these are not my favourite narrators, I've gotten used to them as ones who are prolific in the free lesfic available on Audible and I think this one is at least right up Tanya Eby's wheelhouse. Eby is the weaker of the two narrators, being very monotone at times, but when she has the role of a mostly logical character with a dry, sarcastic, and slightly quirky sense of humour it can really work if you're used to catching cues to those tones in a person's voice (the only book she has done as well, imo, is Who'd Have Thought by G Benson which I highly recommend to those who like the fake relationship trope). This makes her rather perfect for a neurodiverse role. This is one of Melissa Moran's better roles as well, I think, either that or I am getting used to her.

Narration is important

While I always enjoy the writings by Harper Bliss, the narration for me, is key and unfortunately, the narration was lacking in expression of the characters portrayed. I found it hard for them to keep my attention although I really wanted to continue the books.
