À propos de cet audio
Jocelyn Branham Earnest was found dead on the floor of her living room in Forest, Virginia. By her side was a gun and a suicide note-typed, lacking a signature, and with one fingerprint on it. A fingerprint apparently belonging to Jocelyn's estranged husband.Wesley Earnest was a respected high school administrator, poised to restart his life in a new community. Parents entrusted their children to his care and believed he was above reproach. But the investigation into the life the couple once shared would reveal adultery, troubled finances, and shattered dreams - enough for one man with murder on his mind to travel hundreds of miles.

Acceptable Exposé
The depiction(s) of the Trial(s) in this case is/are among the most cinematic interpretations of jurisprudence that I have ever encountered in True Crime. Diane Fanning offers real-life courtroom wranglings that are every bit as captivating as anything fictional written by Grisham or Turow.
That said, the crime in this book itself - a staged suicide perpetrated by a scumbag husband - is pretty ho-hum mundane. Additionally, the writing is unremarkable and the background research for the various players is pretty superficial. This book is a take-it-or-leave-it effort.
As to presentation: Reader Dan John Miller is professional enough (with regards to diction, timbre, cadence, and tone) - but exhibits truly cringeworthy voice-acting. His female speaker interpretations are cartoonish, and the inconsistent application of Southern Drawl accents is baffling. Tantor Audio Inc. should have cast this project better.
Altogether, 'Under Cover Of The Night' is worth a listen if you can get it for free (particularly if you're a fan of Legal Thrillers). Should Audible ask for a Credit for this 5.5/10-star recording, however, keep browsing.
