Every Woman and Man Needs to hear this

I learned so much about myself. The possibility of it being in time to rescue my relationship is HUGE!!
I've asked my partner to listen to it in order to understand I'm not the only woman he will experience with these similarities.

I absolutely LOVE anything by Alison A. Armstrong 💖💖

Insightful and Promising First Half, then So-So

I really enjoyed the beginning of this presentation and was warming up to the speaker quickly. never weird mix of wanting to believe, and being incredibly skeptical. she talks about her research a lot, but everything indicates that whatever research this was, was not scientific.

that isn't bad for say, especially if you're aware of that psychology has been going through a replication crisis for years now, but I think it's important to keep in mind. this audio program is largely based on anecdotal evidence and the authors experience working with people. She doesn't seem to be a psychologist and might not be a qualified therapist of any kind, but she does sell very expensive programs on our website.

Around the time when she starts talking about feelings is when I started to get frustrated. but the issues were creeping in before that too. As authors have said, her view on men is empowering and even gives us 4 stage Life setup. Women are a little left behind in this.

Her early comments on women lined up with the science of personality. What she described as "feminine traits" are almost identical with the personality traits of Agreeableness and Neuroticism which science has found to be a little higher in women than men.

I am a man who tests fairly high in Neuroticism, and it was interesting to see her descriptions which gave that trait from a female perspective, which is different from my experience even though it's the same personality trait.

But once she started to talk about feelings and about how women are more spiritual—something that I actually agree with, though not in the way she presents it—it started to get a little weird and I think more based off of her opinion than her actual research. It actually became frustrating to listen to, rather than enjoyable and insightful. And the occasional over-acting to demonstrate her point didn't help. Fortunately, it seems she only does this in front of a crowd, and so it never happens in the audiobook on men.

Another thing I noticed is that it seems like she considers herself and the women like her who she's worked with to be representative of all women. So, it's clear that she is an agreeable person and a people pleaser. Not all women are like this. Some women are disagreeable, and so don't have the urges and drives in the strength that she describes and presents as universal. And you will find this for a lot of things, where she doesn't seem to be able to differentiate between things that are based off of personality and things that are based off of sex. This is one of a handful of things to keep in mind as you listen.

Also, women are not petty, nor do they lack honour...usually. see outright argues this as one of her major points. she says honor and teamwork are for men, and then doesn't seem to give women anything to counterbalance their lack of these things. It seems her weird definition of Honor really is something less common or more difficult for women to achieve, but I think it's unfair to say that women don't have it, and especially the way that she framed the concept.

Despite all this, I will recommend that you give it a listen. It's very insightful, there are some genuinely useful insights, understanding some of this will help you for the rest of your life in your relationships with women. I would recommend finding a more scientific book to listen to or read after though, just that you get a better idea of where she might have gone wrong. as I said in my review of the development of men audiobook she released, this really is more of a tarot card Folk wisdom which is supported by science and medicine occasionally, rather than a proper scientific exploration.

There is a bit of empiricism, since it's clear that she's worked with a large amount of people and they have found success, that's why I say that it's folk wisdom. it works, but we're not sure why, and she frequently said that in her talk. these are the techniques that work. maybe in your relationship something else will work, but this is what we know seems to work for everyone. there's no explanation for why, there's no diving into hormones or the way the brain works or anything. it's just the base folk wisdom of here's what works, here has been what worked in our practice and with our clients etc.

And so that's how I would take this advice, I would take it exactly at the face value of what's presented. and that is a the opinion of a woman who has a lot of experience working with couples and has found a few tips, tricks, and even soft theories for how and why this stuff works.

Zero Stars

I would have given no star if I could. Not a book about women but rather a book about women in relation to men. Too general and stereotypical to apply to every women. As a feminist, this book is insulting how it describes women as weak and dependent. It has very traditional undertones. If you are a housewife, traditional, and conservative type of women, then this will be your go to. For all the other women in the world, this book is a piece of crap and would be a waste of your time. Definately does not fit in with the diversity of the world/people.

The system is still conditioning gender roles

I humbly found this limiting and degrading to all human beings. If I didn't know better, I would have naively believed what Allison's program taught and continued the cycle of nasty gender roles. Because it was delivered by a woman, I feel this outrageously reinforces the dominance of this patriarchal landscape we call society.
