À propos de cet audio
Words of caution for those who think they're beyond temptation
Too many Christians, especially those in ministry, believe they are untouchable - that they're too faithful to fall or too spiritual to give in to temptation. They deny any sort of weakness, fail to draw proper boundaries, and end up doing the very things they swore they'd never do.
Pastor and author Brittany Rust was one such person - until she found herself in the middle of moral failure and a church-wide scandal. Bewildered, humiliated, and ashamed, she thought she was beyond redemption. But God's grace met her on the ground, and here she shares what she's learned through her painful journey. She unravels the myth of being untouchable, showing how we start to believe the lie, and how we can protect ourselves from temptation. Ultimately she shows that to truly flourish in life, you must be willing to admit weakness - and that no one is beyond God's redeeming love.

Good but....
I enjoyed this book but I am disappointed how the discipline was carried out. I thought that it was was over the top. First of all Brittany's friend gossips about her to the leadership before she even got a chance to tell them herself. That wasn't a "christian" thing to do. Second, when people are ready to repent and tell the leaders; that is when they make them step down. It was all fine when they were doing what they shouldn't in secret but when they come out to their leaders to stop they are made to step down. The loving thing is to make them accountable while they still lead. We are about forgiveness and love. When a person is making themselves vulnerable and stepping out, the church hits them when they are down. I'm sure many people have left the Christianity for this reason. Peter didn't step down when he denied Jesus. He realized the mistake and went on to be even stronger. Peter didn't get a time out to sit in the corner and learn a lesson. I guess it's because Jesus didn't come to start another religion. Humans made the religion of Christianity. I did like the book, just am sad about people's action and not being love, as Jesus is. I really like the subject about how we think we would never fall. Always be aware, anyone can fall to anything especially the least expected. For that reason everyone should read this book.
