À propos de cet audio
A step-by-step plan clinically proven to break the cycle of worry and fear that drives anxiety and addictive habits
We are living through one of the most anxious periods any of us can remember. Whether facing issues as public as a pandemic or as personal as having kids at home and fighting the urge to reach for the wine bottle every night, we are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. But in this timely book, Judson Brewer explains how to uproot anxiety at its source using brain-based techniques and small hacks accessible to anyone.
We think of anxiety as everything from mild unease to full-blown panic. But it's also what drives the addictive behaviors and bad habits we use to cope (e.g. stress eating, procrastination, doom scrolling and social media). Plus, anxiety lives in a part of the brain that resists rational thought. So we get stuck in anxiety habit loops that we can't think our way out of or use willpower to overcome. Dr. Brewer teaches us map our brains to discover our triggers, defuse them with the simple but powerful practice of curiosity, and to train our brains using mindfulness and other practices that his lab has proven can work.
Distilling more than 20 years of research and hands-on work with thousands of patients, including Olympic athletes and coaches, and leaders in government and business, Dr. Brewer has created a clear, solution-oriented program that anyone can use to feel better - no matter how anxious they feel.

Excellent education
I heard the author speak on a weight loss series. The information he shared there intrigued me enough to seek out this book. I am thrilled I did. As a nutritionist I am always looking for tools for my clients and this is definitely one I will be adding to my recommendations along with his app.
I enjoyed that the author read the book himself. I have found that when the author reads the book it tends to come across with more passion.

A great read everyone could use.
I started reading this book because I tend to worry about things that I can’t change. But Judd has opened my eyes to the world of what drives me as a human being. I now feel that I am much more in control of who I am. I like the book so much, I’m afraid I might’ve missed some gems, so I will re-read it. Highly recommend it!

Simply put…wise, heart filled and powerful
Thank you so much for your commitment, curiosity and heart around helping others. Anxiety is the number one symptom I see as a counsellor and somatic psychotherapist.
I first heard your interview with Tara Brach and waited patiently 3 days for my audible credit to arrive ( I bought the paper copy too). I was most impressed by your rigorous study (evidence based) in combination with a new term that is just now coming into main stream therapy “bottom up approach”.
At first the book reads like a top down therapy and yet what starts to arrive is the skillfully explained “present moment awareness” as the most necessary part of the process of unwinding what Tara Brach has often coined “ the trance of unworthiness “ or habit.
I am now, of course, suggesting this book to everyone I know friends, family and clients.
Thank you so much for your compassionate offering… stay curious and keep tuning in!

Best Habit Book!
Not only does it give steps to break the anxiety habit loop, and which has reduced my anxiety significantly, it also gives steps to break all bad habits loops. Ive read 4 more habit books, this one is by far the only one that is actually helpful.
