great story terrible chapter announcement
i love this story and i grew up listening to it. the story is exactly how i remember it but the chapter announcement is terrible. pulled me out of the illusion completely.

Childhood favorite!
This was one of my favorite audiobooks as a child. I was so incredibly excited to find it on Audible! It’s an excellent tale, and it’s still held up all these years later.
If you haven’t listened to it yet, it’s a great story! I definitely recommend!

my all-time favourite story
I've been listening to this story for the past 30 years, it still holds up and creates the same magic it always did for me. wish you could listen to it without chapter numbers being read aloud, as a continuous story like it was on the tape I had as a kid (minus the flip, of course). never fails to help me fall asleep.

Loved this as a child
I absolutely loved this story as a child!! My son loves it now too. It used to be on Spotify and I was crushed when they made it unavailable, until I found it on audible.
My one issue is the chapter announcements, ruins the flow of the story completely! I wish it could be removed.

Been looking for this everywhere!
Grew up on this story and found my passion for violin because of it. Listening to it takes me back & fills me with so much joy hearing all the voices & music I remember so fondly.
Only critique is the chapter announcements, the voice does not fit the vibe & really feels clunky when the recording is otherwise seamless and flows naturally into each scene.

Best story-ruined it with “chapter 3”
I’ve loved this story since I was a kid!! They ruined it by breaking it into chapters. It’s just cut at set intervals, cutting off sentences and words. Even my kid asked why they keep doing that…. Great story, great narration. Awful presentation
