À propos de cet audio
Call them adventurers, traders, trappers, prospectors, missionaries, pioneers and friendly or hostile Indians, if you will — still they were men and women. And the blood of human beings was spilled over the trail westward to raise the Stars and Stripes over Oregon. History will always tell of them. To their posterity they carry the message: Noble, and intrepid, the Oregon Pioneers. They lived and died true Americans. This novel shares their stories.
Wagons of Destiny is the saga of heroic men and women whose slogan was 'Oregon or Bust.' The setting of this novel is an amazingly beautiful country. These pioneers courageously pushed forward to make history in this magical Oregon land that challenged their hearts and minds.
The author, John Aubrey Kramien (1882-1980), was the grandson of Sebastian Brutcher, Sr., an Oregon Pioneer of 1849, who built his homestead on his 'Donation of Land' and was responsible for the naming of the town of Newberg. Oregon. John Kramien grew up in the red hills of Oregon living in a log cabin with a dirt floor for a year. From this background he gleaned the inspiration and material to write Wagons of Destiny and his earlier book, The Saga of the Red Hills of Oregon (1963).
