À propos de cet audio
Being a great first-time dad doesn’t mean being perfect. It means having the tools you need to be a supportive partner during and after pregnancy - which is exactly what We’re Pregnant! The First-Time Dad’s Pregnancy Handbook is all about.
From heartburn and headaches to birth and breastfeeding, We’re Pregnant! features practical, action-oriented pregnancy advice from the author of the Dad or Alive blog, Adrian Kulp, a (once clueless) dad who’s been there and done that - three times, in fact!
We’re Pregnant! addresses and alleviates the stress first-time dads face through candid pregnancy guidance, including:
- Week-specific pregnancy milestones so you’re not left wondering what’s happening, what’s going to happen, or what you should be doing during the pregnancy
- Practical suggestions for supporting your partner’s changing needs during pregnancy and thereafter
- Action-oriented goals that will support baby’s development, mom’s pregnancy experience, and the wellbeing of your relationship
- Up-to-date information on “The Fourth Trimester” so you’re as prepared for the first months of baby’s life as you were during pregnancy
We’re Pregnant! delivers real-world pregnancy advice with a humorous tone that will get first-time dads ready, willing, and able to carry their portion of the pregnancy weight….pickles and ice cream not included.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, a PDF of reference material not included in the narration will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Great information, but a pour conversion to audio
It becomes very apparent that this book was formatted in a very specific manor from its original source. Examples include; seemingly jumping between topics, a LOT of repetition, lots of bullet points read out verbatim.
There were many cases where all I could think was "Wait, didn't we already go over this earlier?". To find that all the information covered is now being re-read as a bullet list. Which isn't at all helpful to a listener.
There is also a lot of US-centric information and attitudes, some of which I found a bit insulting. You need to be the "Home CEO", is this just meant to make being a decent husband sound impressive? "Daddy Day Care", also makes it sound like the father is supplementary and inherently temporary. Why not just "Dad time"?
So overall, good information but terrible presentation.

Terrible format for an audio book
Contains decent information but it's a terrible format for an audio book. Chapter introductions are well written but having a bunch of bullet points read to you based on the different developmental milestones each week is difficult to follow, and quite boring.
Some of the information, particularly about health care providers, is American centric, which wasn't helpful as a Canadian.
Maybe the actual book is worth reading, but listening to it is not.

should have stayed a blog post
Chapters open with a good information dump about it's week of pregnancy the rest of the chapter is the same information repeated over and over again. It feels like the author put no effort into translating this from blog posts to a book.
