À propos de cet audio
Although everyone eats, few people know what dietitians do. As food experts, dietitians help people eat better. Dietitians work in diverse settings including hospitals, research, sports nutrition, community health, food service, the military, nursing homes, education, their own businesses, and the food industry. The dietetics workforce lacks diversity and is predominantly female, white, and able-bodied.
This book features ten children from groups diverse in race/ethnicity, gender, and disability aspiring to become dietitians in different settings. Listeners will also discover the children’s favorite fresh vegetables paired with unique dips or toppings. Children will enjoy learning about dietitians and kid-friendly ways to eat fresh vegetables. Adults, including teachers, school counselors, dietitians, and family members, can use this book to introduce children to the career opportunities of dietetics.
As the first book (to our knowledge) to promote the dietetics profession to children, all book royalties will support efforts to diversify the dietetics workforce.
