À propos de cet audio
Twenty-five years ago, it didn't exist. Today, 20 million people worldwide are surfing the Net. Where Wizards Stay Up Late is the exciting story of the pioneers responsible for creating the most talked about, most influential, and most far-reaching communications breakthrough since the invention of the telephone.
In the 1960s, when computers where regarded as mere giant calculators, J.C.R. Licklider at MIT saw them as the ultimate communications devices. With Defense Department funds, he and a band of visionary computer whizzes began work on a nationwide, interlocking network of computers. Taking listeners behind the scenes, Where Wizards Stay Up Late captures the hard work, genius, and happy accidents of their daring, stunningly successful venture.

In Clear, in Depth and a Little Dry
This book explained the people, world and technology that founded the internet well. It was a little dry at times and required a lot of focus. But if you are intrested in technology and the history of it I don't think a book could have covered the topic any better.

Great recap about the history of the internet
Really enjoyed it! This book tells the story about the internet, but more than that about the people behind its invention. I personally enjoyed knowing a bit more about the people behind the internet and how their careers led them to work in it. I really enjoyed how this book conveyed highly tenchincal information in a way that was easy to follow, while still being very informative. I found the narrator voice, and speed of narration, very good.
