À propos de cet audio
When life doesn’t go as planned...make new plans!
When a devastating event takes away the way of life you are accustomed to, you have two choices: Stop living, or start planning!
In this memoir, Shawn Paulsen demonstrates how he has overcome his stumbling blocks and turned them into stepping stones on his journey through the misfortunes of life. Shawn’s story inspires and motivates others to overcome. He describes how he has learned to face adversity with his chin up by taking a comedic view of his malady and life.
He has shaped his life goal around making the best out of bad situations. From a dysfunctional childhood through a disabling illness that has left him mostly blind and deaf, he never gave up. He discovered new ways to fuel the passions in his life and share them with others.
Many people ask, “Why you?” He now simply responds, “Why not me?” Shawn hopes to propel others to step outside of their norm and enjoy the stars or the song of a bird or the faces of their loved ones, because things change in the blink of an eye.
Praise for the book:
“This book opened my eyes. It made me understand how every day is more important for me, and that I shouldn’t take any of them for granted. It's beautiful, honest and heart-wrenching; it made me laugh and cry. I will never look at orange duct tape the same way again.” (Louie Anderson, comedian and creator of Life with Louie)

Enjoyable
Well narrated with an honest life story involving disability. Sean weaves the good-and-bad moments of his life in such a way that I wasn’t focussed on feeling sorry for him. Instead, I learned about a great attitude in spite of Sean’s increasing challenges as life went on. I, too, developed several disabilities that developed in my mid-thirties. I thought I had a good attitude, but Sean has taught me more. I appreciate that he is honest about the times when he wasn’t so accepting of his challenges. It made the story more real to me as it didn’t seem sanitized. All the best, Sean.
