À propos de cet audio
When Rent opened to thunderous acclaim off-Broadway, Rapp knew that something truly extraordinary had taken shape. But even as people celebrated the show's success, they were also mourning the sudden death of the show's creator.
When Anthony's mom began to lose her battle with cancer, he struggled to balance his theater career with his responsibility to his family. Here, Anthony recounts both the show's huge success and his overwhelming loss. He also shares his experiences discovering his sexuality, the tension it created with his mother, and his struggle to gain her acceptance.

Easy listen
This book will mainly appeal to Rent fans. It deals with grief and can get quite sad, the style is casual and the narration is excellent. Book doesn't take much focus and is easy to listen to in short bursts.

Heartbreaking and yet inspiring
Loved listening to the early days of rent, and of Anthony’s relationship with his family.

RENT from "Mark's View"
Anthony Rapp might be the most relatable person I can think of. I'm straight, a woman, never struggled with religion, and yet my copy of his book is dogeared and highlighted to an almost graffiti like state, I'm surprised he signed it! I had no idea my mother would develop brain cancer 5 years after reading it for the first time. I have found comfort in it and the play (even the film). Rapp writes and reads with sincerity. At times, he has an uncanny relationship to "Mark". If you like RENT you must own a copy!
