À propos de cet audio
“You like my dress? Fifty cents.”
A self-satisfied Ingrid does a quick swivel on her heels to model her recent acquisition.
Ingrid Cloud is a practical person. Having been a sex-ed teacher for decades, she learned the value of money early on. Yard “sailing”, as she calls it, helped her make ends meet while raising two kids with a salesman for a husband whose salary wasn’t always - well, dependable.
Then, she discovered her husband’s unsavory past. A past he refused to leave behind. It was an easy choice: Divorce him. That was more than 20 years ago.
Ingrid often said that one could find anything and everything they needed at yard sales. Perhaps she was right. In retirement, she laid her hands on the biggest yard sale find of all. The love of her life, Jerome Prioleau. Now, there was a wedding to plan.
Meanwhile, strange things were happening in Juniper. A woman was murdered, her body found deep beneath Lake Murray by one of Ingrid’s former students. Later, the woman’s husband, none other than Juniper’s mayor, was found dead. A victim of his own poisoning.
The wedding, just several weeks away. And now, at the most inconvenient time, a lawyer and private investigator insisted on questioning Ingrid.
Robin Pescia, an attorney for whom another one of Ingrid’s students works, receives a disgusting surprise in her mailbox. Then, a private investigator gets a surprise of his own, delivered to his refrigerator.
Ingrid has a bad feeling about all of this. She has begun to believe a ghost from her past has returned to Juniper. But why? She doesn’t know.
But whatever the reason, it has something to do with her.
