One chance encounter changed a dog’s heart forever...
Ginger was sitting on the couch watching cartoons with her best human friend Olive. Olive's mother suggested she take Ginger on a walk in the park. While Olive was hiking in her purple boots, she began daydreaming about an animal sightseeing expedition in the North Pole. Olive’s daydream ended quickly when Ginger started pulling toward a white-tailed deer. Olive tried her best to hold on to Ginger’s leash, but the hound dog was too determined and ran into the woods after the deer. Olive was distraught and frantically ran home. Meanwhile, Ginger’s encounter with the white-tailed deer was not going well either. She ended up being bruised, lost, and trapped in a hole. Fortunately for Ginger, Zen, a stray dog, helps her find her way back to Olive. And thankfully for Zen, Ginger helps him open his heart along the way.
In this story, Ginger and Zen are compassionate towards each other and they show us the courage it takes to share ourselves honestly with new people.
