For 30 years, the Karpeles Manuscript Museum in Duluth has provided the community with chances to connect to the past. The museum at 902 E. First St. is one of a little over a half-dozen museums created by David Karpeles, a mathematician, bank-check handwriting program inventor and real estate tycoon, according to Sjelin.
