Romans 1:16-17
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed – a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
This verse is our theme as we begin a study of one of the most powerful letters in all of the New Testament. Paul’s letter to the Roman church has been called the greatest explanation of the Gospel in all of the Bible. Why is this letter held in such high regard? Maybe you have heard the word Gospel before and you are wondering what the word even means. Over the next several weeks we will go through the entire letter together. We want to be very intentional about challenging the believer throughout this series. But we must also must be just as deliberate about informing the prebeliever about the truth and love, and grace and mercy, and righteousness of God. So that they can come to a saving knowledge of Him!
