It was a delight to interview Marcos Polanco on the Techquanimity Podcast. Marcos has an amazing mix of technology skills and the art of mindfulness; he is a seasoned technology executive with over 20 years of meditation experience.
In this episode, Marcos shares about his personal meditation practice and how he subtly brings the lessons from his practice into his business relationships, particularly with mentoring startup founders. We explore his entry into meditation and how secular meditation can miss some of the depth that a spiritual practice of meditation can bring to your life and work.
Marcos has helped launch over 50 startups across Silicon Valley and Latin America as Director of the Founder Institute, and as CTO of Visor Labs has led over thirty software engineering engagements leading to a dozen public-facing apps on the Apple App Store.
In his prior role establishing the information technology business development unit for the Government of Puerto Rico, he facilitated the creation of 1,700 technology jobs by attracting $110M of corporate investment from Microsoft, Lockheed Martin and Honeywell Aerospace, among others.
Earlier in his career, Marcos co-invented and patented a widely-cited machine learning algorithm, then founded an enterprise social search startup to commercialize the technology. He is currently VP of Software Engineering at Bellwether Coffee with the mission to electrify coffee roasting and empower everyone to sustainably source and roast their own incredible coffee.
