  • A Sound Purchase is run by two musicians and longtime friends. This podcast was created from the idea of introducing albums to Stefan's high school music students, many of whom didn't realise that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were a real band...  Hosts Jake and Stefan guide you through some of the most iconic recordings ever made, track by track, deciding if the recordings studied are indeed a sound purchase. Along the way they share anecdotes from their own musical lives and have a good yarn.  Jake -a multi-instrumentalist who grew up on the south coast of England. Playing a diverse range of groups that span genres such as shoe-gaze and electro-pop. Stefan - also a multi-instrumentalist and high school music teacher. Growing up in New Zealand, studying in Japan and seattling in the UK, he has experienced a diverse range of musical cultures.
