Alison Malmon is the Founder and Executive Director of Active Minds, the nation’s
leading nonprofit organization promoting mental health awareness and education for young adults. Alison tragically lost her 21 year old brother when she was a college student and she turned that grief into action and started Active Minds, which is no on over 1000 college campuses, universites and K-12 schools, workplaces and communities. Alson and Active Minds knows that when friends are struggling, they turn to their friends for help. But what if a young person doesn’t feel adequately skilled to support a friend who is having mental health struggles? Alson and Active Minds started a new campaign to empower young people with the skills to support their friends who are dealing with mental health issues using the A.S.K. method.
