  • In this episode of #LiknayanPodcast, we sit down with Dr. Alvie Astronomo, an esteemed nuclear physicist from the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute! She is the project leader and lead core designer of the recently commissioned Philippine Research Reactor 1 (PRR-1). Dr. Astronomo is also the lead designer of the Multi-shell Neutron Spectrometry System (MuNS), which has been deployed in medical accelerator facilities to assess neutron fields as reference for improving radiation protection measures. She is likewise actively involved in nuclear manpower development through nuclear training, education, and public awareness.
