  • Episode 69 - Return Of The Trad Sniper
    Dec 31 2024

Welcome to Episode 69 where I'm joined by the Trad Sniper for the last recording of 2024. We catch up on his adventures over the last few months including his switch from recurve to English longbow and his new custom longbow, his goals with it for 2025.We talk about him deep diving into wooden arrow builds to make perfect match grade arrows. We also discuss his trip to Agincourt, my decision to give single string shooting a try and the possibility of a get together with previous guests on the podcast in summer 2025 to do some shooting. BBQ'ing and record a round table episode. It was a conversation that lasted over 4 and a half hours peppered with lots of laughs and the usual inappropriate humour. Happy New Year one and all.

  • Episode 68 - Joel Turner Of Shot IQ
    Dec 24 2024

Welcome to Episode 68 where I am truly blessed to be joined by Joel Turner of Shot IQ. Joel is a former SWAT team member and sniper who was aso a lead firearms instructor and a a two-time RMEF World Elk Calling Champion in the Professional Division, who developed Controlled Process Shooting, a system that addresses the mental side of archery and shot anticipation (or the dreaded target panic). In 2023, Joel's son, Bodie, smashed his way onto the world stage by winning The Vegas Shoot in the Championship Male category at just 15 years old. After my nerves settled, we discuss Joel's system, non-hunting societies and the joys of silence in a conversation that lasted just over 2 hours. Joel can be found on the links below.

  • Episode 67 - Traditional Archery, Globetrotting & Everything In Between With Maddie Hammond
    Dec 15 2024

In Episode 67 I was honoured to be joined by relative newcocomer to archery, Maddie Hammond. Maddie is a personal trainer from London who is relatively new to archery, onlhy taking the sport up after lockdown but in those intervening 3 and a half years, Maddie has achieved so much, immersing herself in the trad life and gaining an incredible knowledge of both bow and arrow tuning and mastering not only the physical side of shooting a bow, but also the mental mastery of controlled process shooting. In a conversation that lasted over 4 hours we discussed everything from archery to hiking, nightclubs, a little politics, differing customer service levels in the archery world between the USA and the UK, her shooting with Joel Turner of Shot IQ & meeting Tom Clum Sr. on her recent trip to shoot the Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous (ETAR) in the States, aswell as her appearance as a guest on Episode 288 of The Push Traditional Archrey Podcast (one of the archery world's biggest podcasts.
