The Slim Dusty Family Show was fronted by Slim And Joy and daughter Anne Kirkpatrick and son, David Kirkpatrick and Joy’s sister Heather McKean.Joy McKean, singer-songwriter, musician and wife and manager of Slim Dusty, won the first Golden Guitar Songwriting Award and won 7 Golden Guitar Awards, 3 Tamworth Songwriters Awards, won APRA Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music and inducted into Australian Roll of Renoun and an Australian Women in Music Lifetime Achievement Award. She was one of the co-founders of the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Country Music Association of Australia.Slim Dusty, sing-songwriter, guitarist and producer went on to win 38 Golden Guitar Awards. Slim released 110 albums over his career and earned over 70 gold and platinum album certifications and sold over 8 million Australian record sales. He was the first Australian to have a No.1 international hit song, with Gordon Parsons “Pub with No Beer”. Slim was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame and Australian Roll of Renoun. He performed “Waltzing Matilda” at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Anne Kirkpatrick has released 11 studio albums, 2 live albums and 4 compilation albums. She has won 4 Golden Guitar Awards at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 1979, 1991, and twice in 1992. She also won an ARIA Award for Best Australian Country Record in 1992, and appeared on the 1990 compilation album Breaking Ground - New Directions in Country Music which was nominated for the 1991 ARIA Award for Best Country Album. She has won 2 Mo Awards 1991 & 1992 Best Female Entertainer of the Year. In 2010 Kirkpatrick was inducted into the Australian Roll of Renown. The albums “The Slim Dusty Family Show Live at Tamworth 1996” and “The Slim Dusty Travelling Country Band Reunion Show Live at Tamworth 1996” were recorded by sound engineer Andrew Rodd. The album sales are fund raising for the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping ROAD CREW during hard times and serious illness through their welfare program. Many artists have generously given their permission for the release of the sound engineers’ desk tapes of their live performances that make up a diverse collection of some truly unique historical releases.
