    Lucy Olsen, a 5'10" graduate student from Collegeville, Pa., joins the Iowa Hawkeyes as their new point guard for the 2024-25 season. Olsen transferred from Villanova, leaving an indelible mark on the program's history.

    In her stellar 2023-24 season at Villanova, Olsen was named an Honorable Mention All-American by both the WBCA and the Associated Press. She ranked third in the country in scoring, averaging an impressive 23.3 points per game. Her outstanding performance earned her unanimous first-team All-Big Easr selection and the Big East Most Improved Player award.

    Olsen's basketball journey began at Spring-Ford High School, where she became the all-time leading scorer for boys and girls with 1,699 points. Her high school accolades include being named 2021 Miss Pennsylvania Basketball and earning two-time first-team All-State honors.

    At Villanova, Olsen's growth was remarkable. She progressed from a Big East All-Rookie Team selection in her freshman year to a second-team All-Big East player in her sophomore year, culminating in her breakout junior season. Throughout her college career, she demonstrated versatility as both a scorer and facilitator, finishing her Villanova career ranked ninth all-time in scoring with 1,504 points.

    Known for her infectious enthusiasm and love for the game, Olsen brings her scoring and a passion that energizes her teammates. As she steps into the significant role of succeeding Caitlin Clark at Iowa, Olsen is focused on being herself and contributing to the Hawkeyes' fast-paced, high-scoring offense in her own unique way.
