We want to thank everyone for attending, viewing, and listening to our 100th show recording last week. we got 50 of our closest friends in Savannah together for an intimate candid conversation with Alderwoman Kesha Gibson-Carter and State Senator Lester Jackson
We are back for episode 101: John and Chuck have been around the community at various community meetings lately and this week we may have gotten our clearest signs yet that LOST negotiations will fail before the years end. We discuss the implications of this policy and leadership failure of Mayor Van Johnson and Chairman Chester Ellis
We'll discuss some basic examples of property tax calculations once the LOST expires in 60 days. Long story short. Owner Occupied Homeowners will see a 30% Increase in the overall rate of property taxes or $100 more per month in their mortgage and renters will see a 44% increase in property taxes which equate to an average rent increase at lease renewal of $200-300 per month
For this and many reasons we are urging you to VOTE NO on the TSPLOST Referendum. It is unconscionable that we would keep our sales tax at 7% while simultaneously delivering the largest property tax increase in history.
