Work on season 5 continues and we promise it will be out in early 2023. But in the meantime, for the next few works we have something special. As you may know our Co-Host Mackenzie is the Co-Artistic Producer of another virtual theatrical venture, Cup of Hemlock Theatre which hosts a weekly online show 'The Cup'. On 'The Cup' Mackenzie and his fellow team members dive into and review both live theatre productions and proshots of past stage productions, host artist interviews and roundtable discussions. All episodes are available both on YouTube and in audio only podcast form. So enjoy for these next few weeks as we share some of the musical episodes Mackenzie has done over at 'The Cup'.
For this week we have Roundtable episode where we mark the one-year anniversary of the passing of composer, lyricists, and the Shakespeare of musical theatre Stephen Sondheim, by devoting this special roundtable to his remarkable contributions to musical theatre. Mackenzie and his fellow panelists examine the complexity of his writing, debate whether Sondheim's compositions not being as hummable as his colleagues was a detriment to his work, and explore what legacy and impact Sondheim and his work will have on the generations to come. We hope you enjoy this bonus episode and stay tuned for upcoming announcements on season 5!
