    Oct 13 2025

Holidays in the 2020's just don't hit like they used to. Halloween? Cancelled. Christmas? Stolen. Thanksgiving? You can eat cranberry sauce any day of the week. There's only one celebration that gives us the season for a reason: Big-Ass Pumpkin Day! And this year, a last-minute pivot (damn you to high hell, R.L. Stein) causes the crew to spring a trap on Cody during his favorite day of the year. Join them for a surprise Bop n' A Movie commentary track for Spookley The Square Pumpkin, the harrowing tale of a malformed misfit trapped in a world he never made, spurned by his barnyard brethren until his indoctrination into a brutal Olympiad, his only ally a homunculus torn between loyalties to the opposing worlds of man and nature. A beloved animated classic enjoyed by kids the world over!

  • Talkin' 90s Horror with CreatorVC's David A. Weiner (In Search of Darkness 1995-99)
    Oct 7 2025

It’s time to close down your haunted curio shop, grab your anti-teacher assault pencil, and take a trip to the closest madness-mouth, because in this episode the crew welcomes back director David Weiner to the show to talk about his latest entry in CreatorVC’s famous line of genre film documentaries, In Search of Darkness: 1994-1999! Pop this into your Talkboy as they have a fascinating chat on the process of putting together the most ambitious (and lengthy) horror retrospective yet, the decision to split the project into two films, what he thinks made the nineties stand out creatively as horror struggled to find its footing financially, and how the upcoming millennium stirred up old fears in audiences as it slowly introduced them to the scares to come.

  • WAXWORK Commentary Track
    Sep 17 2025

What do wax museums, Twin Peaks, wolf-men, MTV, S&M sex, the Amiga 1000, and the the invisible man have in common, outside of captivating America? Anthony Hickox’s 1988 debut feature, Waxwork! In the newest edition of BOP n’ A Movie’s commentary series on the history of cinematic wax, the crew looks at an entry that may not be the brightest stick on the candelabra, but maybe the most fun. Starring Zach “from Gremlins” Galligan, David “that TGRI Guy” Warner, and Dana “I didn’t kill my girlfriend, Laura Palmer” Ashbrook, this gloriously cheesy Sci-Fi Network favorite uses the museum format to take its cast on a journey through time and space to rival Doctor Who… which is appropriate considering how Warner is dressed. But will Cody survive his latest wax drink? And will they just keep the recorder on while they watch Waxwork II: It’s About Time? Follow the tiny butler and step inside!

  • THE WAX MASK Commentary Track
    Aug 5 2025

Get ready to pour yourself a cocktail, put on an old opera record, and inject yourself with a chemical compound that stretches the bounds of death in a terrifying fusion of science and art, because the crew at Box Office Pulp is back on their wax bullshit with a commentary track for Sergio Stivaletti's Fulci-by-another-name fable, 1997's Wax Mask. The legendary special effects master responsible for the Demons franchise only ever directed a single feature, and this slasher by way of a giallo by way of a Wax Museum mystery has been unfairly forgotten by even the most stalwart horror faithfuls. Listen to the tale of Dario Argento's last boon to a dying frenemy, a museum owner driven by heartbreak to murder and mad science, and a dubbing track that descended into pure, unfiltered Italiano.

So remove your mesh mask to reveal your wax mask to reveal your robot(?) skull by listening now!

  • THE WAVES OF MADNESS
    May 8 2025

Once the most derided type of film adaptation, video game movies have been seeing a renaissance as of late. So what better time to borrow the conventions of a once-derided medium to tell a story all your own? In this Mini-BOP, Mike and Jamie gush about the new film by genre filmmaker Jason Trost, The Waves of Madness, the world’s first side-scrolling motion picture. With a premise that could have outstayed its welcome in minutes, Waves draws you in with its loving pastiche of PS1-era survival horror, and keeps you with a sincere Lovecraftian mystery at sea, with the best monster design we’ve seen all year. You’ll never look at load screen monologues the same way again!

  • NOSFERATU (2024)
    Jan 11 2025

Now that Father Time has allowed one more year to pass, and Santa has been banished to his ice prison until next solstice, it's time to visit our favorite memory from this holiday season: Nosferatu, AKK Robert Eggers Presents "This Ain't Dracula: A XXX Symphony of Horror." Stalk the stone paths of turn-of-the-century Germany alongside The BOP Suitors as Lilly Rose-Depp's star-making performance ties together an all-star cast, including Bill Skarsgaard at his most uncanny, Willem Dafoe at his most grave, Nicolas Hoult at his most dandy, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson at his most obsessed with his wife. Along their stroll they'll discuss the appeal of the Nosferatu iteration of familiar vampire lore and how Eggers plays with those expectations, rank the stars of Dracula Cinema by their fashion and sex appeal, and scour forgotten lore to determine how exactly Orlok traveled by boat to a landlocked country.
