George Soros funded organizations have made an unprecedented investment in Texas to turn the State towards Democrats. This effort has been ongoing for nearly a decade, at the local level in Texas. Large Counties in Texas that include the Cities of San Antonio, Houston, and Austin have progressive prosecutors. Their campaigns were largely funded by Soros backed organizations. These Cities have experienced an increase in crime and disorder because of these progressive prosecutors.
The Lone Star State is fighting back. One of the organizations leading the fight for common sense is the Consolidated Law Enforcement Association of Texas, CLEAT. I will be joined by Jennifer Szimanski the Executive Director of CLEAT. We will discuss CLEAT’s efforts in the States Capital in Austin to reduce the prosecutorial discretion of these rogue prosecutors.

  • Qualified Immunity Facts and Fiction
    Jun 11 2025
For the last 20 years, Police “reformers” have advocated for the end of a protection of Law Enforcement from civil liabilities, called Qualified Immunity. Most of the efforts to end Qualified Immunity have focused specifically on Law Enforcement.
On this episode of Briefing with the Chief, I will be joined by Adam Marangell, the General Counsel for the Los Angeles Sheriff Professional Association, LASPA. He has represented Law Enforcement officers for nearly 20 years. We will discuss the doctrine of Qualified Immunity both its legal aspects and public policy implications.

  • Total - Left Ramps Up Protests
    May 14 2025
On the Briefing with the Chief episode, The Left’s Middle Finger to the Voters, we explored the violence by the left since President Trump took office as the 47 President of the Unites States. These protests and violence are continuing. Protestors took over an Engineering building at the University of Washington in Seattle and a library at the Columbia University. Both Universities turned to the Police to clear out the protestors. This of course has led to criticism of Police.
These confrontations with Police are expanding in intensity, particularly with the crack down on illegal immigration. The recent arrest of the Mayor of Newark New Jersey, Ras Baraka and the recriminations back and forth shows the left is ramping up the protests. The men and women of Ice and the Department of Homeland Security, are latest pinatas of the Left and their affiliates in the Main Stream Media. We will discuss these issues on this episode of Briefing with the Chief.
