Our sidequest this week took us into the FUUUTUURRE (cue time machine noises), where we talked about what lies ahead for video games beyond the current generation of consoles and about what games we're looking forward to this year. Back in the present, Epic is facing more legal scrutiny, Sega is getting into the subscription business, and we talked about the books we read in 2024. Our sidequest this week led us to the OTHER Game Awards (the Geoff Keighley version) where we learned that Troy Baker can do a hell of a Harrison Ford impression. We also headed out to space to talk about Last of Us developer Naughty Dog's new game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and to court where Epic was ordered to pay a hefty sum to Fortnite players for "dark patterns" related to microtransactions. Oh, and Snoop Dogg is making video games, now.
