    Charlie Swanson, a 26-year-old powerhouse from Richmond, Virginia, has quickly made a name for himself in competitive swimming. Standing at 6'3", this University of Michigan alumnus has left an indelible mark on the sport in his debut Olympic appearance at Paris 2024.

    In his first Olympic Games, Swanson showcased his versatility and team spirit: Gold medal in the 4 x 100m Mixed Medley Relay, Silver medal in the 4 x 100m Men's Medley Relay, 14th place in the 100m Breaststroke individual event.

    Swanson's journey to Olympic success began in the pools of NOVA of Virginia Aquatics under coach Geoff Brown. His talent was evident early on, earning him spots on the USA National Junior Team (2015-2017) and the USA National Team (2017-2024). At the University of Michigan, Swanson's aquatic prowess continued to shine: 4-time All-American, 5-time Big 10 Champion (4 times in 400 IM, once in 800 Free relay), Qualified for NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships all four years.

    Prior to his Olympic debut, Swanson had already made waves on the international stage: 2019 Pan American Games: Gold in 400m Individual Medley, 2016 Junior Pan Pacific Championships: Silver in 400m Individual Medley, 2015 World Junior Championships: Medalist in 400m Individual Medley.

    The son of Mary Scott Swanson, Charlie's dedication to swimming is matched by his humility and connection to his roots. Even as he trains in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he continues to represent NOVA in national competitions, proudly wearing his hometown on his cap. Charlie Swanson's journey from a promising junior swimmer to an Olympic medalist is a testament to his hard work, perseverance, and the support of his coaches and community. As he continues to compete at the highest levels, the swimming world eagerly anticipates what this rising star will accomplish next.
