During his 16 years of working as a chaplain and a pastor with men and women in jail and in prison in Washington state, Chris Hoke has seen that oftentimes we don't want to completely rethink our lives until things fall apart. He sees prisoners either trying to get back to the way things used to be. But--sometimes men or women are ready to totally rethink their lives and let go of the old ways of doing things. What might we learn from those who can see their lockdown time, their re-entry process with clear new eyes. Churches are actually calling this time of emerging from COVID the re-entry process. Chris invites us to see this as a period of not just trying to get back to normal, but instead he offers permission to let some things go, to really rethink, “What is our purpose as a church?” Let's not miss this opportunity!
