  • This Impresses Me - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1484
    Feb 17 2025

This episode is coming from Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) and he’s sharing what I think is something I needed to get my focus back on for sure. He shared: “A message for today …What impresses me most is one’s humility, authenticity & care for others. Being a good person impresses me more than one’s material wealth or status. We need to value deeper & meaningful qualities in people which lead to more lasting & genuine connections.” I needed to see this to get me back on track to what’s really important in this world. Not what the “popular view” is, but that there are some things that are much longer lasting than the flashy, loud, overwhelmingly negative towards others, etc. I hope this helps you to get a few things back on your radar to value as being really important to have in life. • Championship Mindset - 3 of 3 - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. - 2-14-25 #1483
    Feb 14 2025

I get this newsletter from “The Daily Coach” and it always has powerful lessons about leadership, life, sports, and it really translates to lessons for all of us to use in our daily lives. If you click on the link above, you will find that there are three people responsible for this great information being shared. Michael Lombardi, who has been a part of championship programs in football; George Raveling who was a longtime basketball coach and loves teaching leadership lessons; and the third person is Kimati Ramsey who is connected to supporting teams and individual athletes with their mental health. A winning trio that helps people to see life lessons through sports. This is part 2 of 3 looking at a Championship Mindset and they are focusing in on “Jalen Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to a dominant 40-20 victory over the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, also taking home MVP honors. This wasn’t just another win—it was the culmination of a journey filled with trials, setbacks, and relentless perseverance.” This is the third and final part that I’m reflecting on and sharing some connections to life for most of us that don’t play professional sports for a living. This part is all about Growth that we want to strive for throughout our lifetime. This third part includes this from the email I got - “We may not be suiting up on Sundays, but in our own ways, we are all competing for the Super Bowl of life—pushing toward our unique opportunities to live, lead, love and serve at our highest calling and levels.” I know that life sure does become more interesting for each of us when we are able to connect to things (and people) that fire us up and inspire us, along with finding things everyday to keep connecting with so we can keep improving. Again, there are so many things out there to connect with as the saying that “success leaves clues” is always whispering in our ears as we try to live our best life, every single day!! This wasn’t just another win—it was the culmination of a journey filled with trials, setbacks, and relentless perseverance.” This second part I’m reflecting and sharing some thoughts on the Grit it takes in football, but more importantly in life. From the newsletter: “Turning losses into lessons - “This isn’t just a story about a quarterback winning a championship. It’s about life testing a leader over and over again—and that leader continuing to rise, inspire, and compete when it would have been easy to give up. Leadership and life guarantee challenges. But setbacks aren’t failures if we embrace them as opportunities for growth.” We all need to have our own version of “grit” in our lives. It comes down to not quitting or giving up on things in our life that are important to us. Thanks for listening. Good lessons for sure to take in and reflect on and see how you can take these with you to help “your craft”, what you do in life and make it the best that you can. Thanks for listening. • Deploy Empathy - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tue. 2-11-25 #1480
    Feb 11 2025

It’s amazing when you are needing some advice, lifting up, positive reinforcement, etc., that’s when you find it. In a post, a video, something you read, or hear from others. I found this post from Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) that reminded me about others that are “slinging mud” around to so many people, are really hurting deep down inside. Gary’s message is for us to remind others about this too. Here is his post that went along with the video clip of him talking with someone that had a question on this topic: “The people who hurt you are hurting the most .. have love for them ❣️ please pass this onto someone who is struggling with the negative feedback on their page or in life .. it’s time to deeply empathy for the one who is deploying the negativity or hurt, you have the strength to do this. ❣️” I think this is right on target for what’s happening so much more now it seems around the world. I know I needed this reminder. Thanks for listening. • Accept Both of These - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-10-25 #1479
    Feb 10 2025

These two items are good to take on all throughout life. It was posted by Art of Thinking (@Art0fThinking) and it says: “Accept both compliments and criticism. It takes both sun and rain for a flower to grow.” It’s a reminder for all of us that there are plenty of sunny moments in life (happiness, love, things are going well, we feel good, etc.) along with plenty of rain moments too (negativity, anger, not feeling good, pain, struggle, awful people, etc.) But life is full of both and we can (and should) use both in order to grow. It reminds me of what my good friend, Dr. Joe DiPonio has said plenty of times to so many of my students and others - “life is all about not getting caught up in having too many high highs, or having too many low lows.” It takes a little bit of both to help move us along in life. • Uncomfortable Situations - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1478
    Feb 10 2025

Saw a great reminder and once again, it came right when I needed to see it too. Found this from The Winning Difference (@thewinningdiff1) and it was a quick clip of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Coach, Dawn Staley where she said this: “Being uncomfortable and learning the processes of being uncomfortable and knowing that on the other side of an uncomfortable situation is growth.” It is a reminder to all of us to “Embrace the discomfort. It’s where you grow, where you separate yourself. The ones who push through it? They’re the ones who win.” There are so many moments in life where this happens to all of us and this is a great reminder to simply keep on going through the uncomfortableness to get it out of the way, and to pick up the lessons that we need to learn. • Happy People List - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 2-7-25 #1477
    Feb 7 2025

I found a list of seven items that people have that helps make them connected to happiness and joy! This came from Essential Mastery (@EssentialMastry) and the opening connecting words about the list is “real”. I think it is totally real. Happy People are all about: don’t show off, talk less, learn daily, help others, laugh more, ignore BS and live longer! A very simple road map for a good life. It’s also amazing to see so many doing the opposite of what is on this list. It’s a good plan of action to go after doing these items each and every day of our lives. Go ahead and try these out for size. I know I will be focusing on these for sure. Thanks for listening.
