It's the start of a new year, which means time to dust off the old crystal ball and see what could be coming to the cobbles in the next twelve months! In this episode, we chat about our predictions for 2025, discuss what we're squeezing our hands together tight and praying will happen, and get our creative juices flowing by coming up with some storyline pitches for the year. Of course, it wouldn't be a prediction show without us looking back to last year's ideas and seeing how many of them we got right (spoiler alert - not too many!) and also hear some ideas from our lovely listeners. Honestly, who needs TV guide spoilers and leaks from The Sun when you've got this?

Despite dominating our screen time last week, there was relatively little follow-up to the stabbing story this week - at least for the kids involved, that is. Abi, on the other hand, has been having a proper rough old time of it, culminating in yet another ghostly return to the cobbles in the form of Seb! And she's not the only Webster with issues this week either, as Kevin's having problems of own downstairs... Also this week, Lauren's trial kicks off, there's a hostage situation at the prison, and a merging of Barlow storylines sees Cassie and Daniel finding out a few of each other's secrets...

After his dramatic exit from the Street last week, Corrie actor Luca Toolan comes onto the podcast to talk about his year and a half playing bad boy Mason Radcliffe. We chat about Luca's interpretation of his thought-provoking exit episode, the secrets behind his final scenes and what it was like acting alongside the likes of Bill Fellows, Sally Dynevor and Vicky Myers.

Wow, what an incredible week that was! After the all-too perfect happy ending that was being built up for Mason last week, we had a feeling that he might not be making it out of Monday's episode alive, but we weren't expecting an episode quite like that. In a sequence that was part dream, part parallel universe, Corrie showed us what might have happened had Dylan not bought that zombie knife a few months back, before ultimately revealing how it actually led to Mason's tragic end. There were powerhouse performances all round as characters reacted to the news of the stabbing, and plenty of discussion was generated relating to who was ultimately responsible for 2024's first death on the cobbles. Not only that, but we also said a fond (and hopefully temporary) farewell to Evelyn as she headed off to university, whilst over at the prison, Bobby has a big request for a familiar face from the past...

Whether you love spoilers or loathe them, news about the next twelve months on the cobbles has been everywhere this week - and for big fans of the show, most of it has been pretty hard to avoid. Although we usually steer clear of spoiler talk on the podcast, we couldn’t resist weighing in on what’s been revealed this week, especially since it’s also the perfect chance to discuss some of the 2025 storylines teased by new producer Kate Brooks at the press day we attended back in November. In this week’s bonus episode, we take a deep dive into all things Coronation Street in 2024 - a year where the drama behind the scenes often rivalled what was playing out on screen! Speaking of the Swains, Betsy's getting all loved up with Mason this week, but when he finds evidence that could get his brothers sent down for murder, he suddenly finds himself with a massive target on his back... Also this week, Evelyn gets fast tracked to uni, David declares war on Kit, and Tracy's determined to bring Cassie down.

Another slow news week this week, so after Street Talk, we just round things off with a bit of feedback before finishing.
