  • Season Two Ep 1 - Morgan Greene
    Oct 4 2021

We're back! After a short break over the summer, I'm really pleased to bring you the first episode of season 2 featuring Morgan Greene. It seems like such a long time ago since we recorded this (June 2021) and despite Zoom's best effort to sabotage us, we had a great chat and I was fascinated with Daniel's approach to his work. Since recording this, I have read most of his back catalogue and I was delighted to see the launch of his latest book 'Old Blood', the third installment of the Jamie Johannson.

To find out more about Daniel (who writes as Morgan Greene) take a look at his website: https://www.morgangreene.co.uk/

All of the books are available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08M5SK27G

  • Episode Eleven - Clare Mackintosh
    Jun 22 2021

I make no apologies for gushing, Clare is my favourite crime thriller /  psychological thriller / queen of misdirection writer and I was thrilled to chat with her ahead of the launch of her latest book, Hostage.

Hostage is out on 22nd June 2021 and can be found in all good bookshops (but shop local if you can!)

  • Episode Ten - Malcolm Hollingdrake
    Jun 19 2021

This week I chat with Malcolm Hollingdrake, author of the Harrogate crime series featuring DCI Cyril Bennett, set in and around Harrogate.

Chatting with Malcolm was really like meeting an old friend for coffee. We covered so much ground from writing routines to our shared love of Yorkshire and our passion for vintage Porsche cars! There's also guest appearance from parcel deliveries to window cleaners - nothing like keeping it real!

(This is probably the most Yorkshire I've ever sounded too!)

  • Episode Nine - M W Craven
    Jun 7 2021

Carlisle-born M. W. Craven took up a probation officer role in Whitehaven in 1999. Seventeen years later, at the rank of assistant chief officer, he became a full-time author. The Puppet Show, the first in a two-book deal he signed with the Little, Brown imprint, Constable in 2017, was released this June. It has sold in numerous foreign territories and has been optioned for TV by Studio Lambert.

In this episode we chat about his publishing journey, Washington Poe and of course the much loved character of Tilly!

Mike's latest book, Dead Ground, is now available on Amazon or at all bookshops.

  • Episode Eight - International Best Selling author, Peter James
    May 24 2021

This week I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with one of my favourite crime writers Peter James. How we managed to keep it an hour is beyond me as I could have chatted to him all day! As you would expect, Peter is a natural storyteller, and he shared with me some insights into the character that is Roy Grace, how he works closely with Brighton police to build authenticity and we also chatted about theITV show, Grace, the stage show of Looking Good Dead that starts in July. I couldn't resist asking him about my favourite of his books The House On Cold Hill and he shared a few stories about how the plot mirrored real life in a house he used to own! We also covered his love of animals, the input he gets from his readers and he shares what he is reading at the moment. Peter has a short story coming out on 27th May, featuring Roy Grace 'Wish You Were Dead' as part of the initiative to get us all reading. I can't wait and I do hope you enjoy this episode.
