  • Driving Trip of Castles in Ireland
    Mar 14 2023

Welcome friends, Dame Julie here. In celebration of St Patrick’s day, it seemed appropriate to share with you the driving trip of Ireland I took with my sister, Jane and my daughter in March 2012. I want to remind listeners that Ireland is on an Island and is its a Democracy in the south. The Capitol is Dublin. Of the country’s we’ve talked about it’s the most like the US. You can drink the water. Uses the Euro. Ireland now has the 3rd highest domestic gross product among European nations and provides free health care to its citizens. Largely Catholic. Northern Ireland which we didn’t visit is part of England and largely protestant.

The focus of the trip was Castles throughout Ireland. Ireland is home to more castles than the rest of the British Isles combined. There are approximately 3,000 castles in Ireland. Hard to go anywhere in emerald isle without seeing a castle. Our trip was designed to be a self-guided tour and included staying in castles. With that introduction, I’d like to introduce you to my older sister Jane.

  • Exploring the Mysteries of Egypt: Part 2
    Mar 1 2023

Dame Julie and her son, Scott Kozisek, continue their discussion of traveling in Egypt, October 2022. In this segment, the duo talks about cruising the Nile. This was the first time that either Dame Julie or Scott had been on a cruise. This cruise proved to be a luxurious experience. While Dame Julie and Scott were in Egypt women in Iran were galvanized about appropriate dress and choice. Egypt does not require women to wear head coverings. During Women’s history month, it seems appropriate to remember that women in many places in the world lack equality and choice. Please like, follow, or share Dame Julie if you enjoyed this discussion.
