  • Sometimes we think of a career change as being a 180 from what we were previously doing. However, a common pivot is to make an adjacent change.

    An adjacent career change is moving into something that already 'touches' what you're already doing. It's not something completely different.

    Dan Cafiero called it "evolving with the market."

    He started out in digital advertising and event planning and eventually moved into a more strategic and technical role involved with ABM (account-based marketing) and program management.

    We also talked about:

    • What a passion really is and does it apply to your career
    • Why you need to try different things to be able to see what you couldn't before- hence the 'adjacent' nature of a career change
