  • Episode 23 - Texas City Disaster
    Apr 17 2022

Explosives can be very beneficial, in some circumstances. Whether it be in the mining industry for blasting rock off of cliff faces, used in construction for shooting tunnels through mountains. It sure beats raising a pickaxe to the rocks. Sometimes though, explosives can be deadly if the right safety matters aren’t put into place, they're something to take very seriously. These rules are usually written down on paper after the loss of lives or when someone's life gets permanently altered in a negative way. Unfortunately, there have been times in history when these rules were taken for granted, resulting in devastation and mass casualty events. Most of the time, a lot of these accidents could have been prevented, if the right safety matters would have been put into place and followed. Usually when accidents happen that involve explosives, it can be chaotic, sometimes resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people. In this episode we will explore some events in history that involved explosives, sadly these events changed the lives of many families forever.
