  • In Genesis 34-35, Dinah, Jacob's daughter, is sexually assaulted by Prince Shechem. Seeking marriage, Shechem's unthinkable proposal leads to violent retaliation by Jacob's sons, devastating Shechem's city. Jacob, troubled, follows God's guidance to Bethel, renewing his covenant. Amidst deceit and violence: How will Jacob's family navigate the aftermath of their actions and uphold their divine covenant?

    In Matthew 12:46-13:17, as Jesus teaches the crowd through parables, his mother and brothers arrive, seeking him. Addressing the crowd, Jesus expands the concept of family beyond blood relations, declaring those who do God's will as his true family. He then speaks in parables, like the sower and the seed, revealing deep spiritual truths. His disciples, puzzled by his method, learn that parables both reveal and conceal truths, dependent on the listener's openness to understanding.
