  • "Dismantling the Ivory Tower" is an engaging and informative student-run podcast, created in partnership with and operating out of Portland Community College's Multicultural Center. Hosted by Elijah Jagne, a Multicultural Center student leader and alum of the Men of Color Leadership Program (MoCLP) , and co-hosted by Dr. Clifford C. Meeks, Coordinator of the MoCLP, the podcast aims to foster meaningful conversations around the topics of identity, diversity, and the historical context of structural racism and bias within higher education institutions.

    One of the primary objectives of "Dismantling the Ivory Tower" is to promote the Multicultural Center and the MoCLP. The podcast emphasizes the importance of these essential programs and their work in fostering a more inclusive and supportive campus environment for underrepresented students.

    In addition, the show seeks to provide listeners with valuable information about general PCC events. By keeping the audience up-to-date on campus happenings, the podcast ensures that listeners are well-informed and can actively participate in the vibrant PCC community.

    The podcast also highlights the experiences of marginalized communities in an educational setting. Through sharing personal stories and testimonials, the show seeks to give a voice to underrepresented students and shine a light on the unique challenges they face in higher education.
