  • When the history book of Irish athletics is written, Tom Barr's name will be in there. He is one of Ireland's most successful ever athletes, from a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rio, to a European Championship bronze medal two years later, and a European Championship gold medal last year in the 4x4 mixed relay in Rome.


    This week he announced his retirement from the sport, and sat down with Hazel Nolan to chat about why now, what he'll miss the most and whether or not he would have done anything different in that final in Rio.
