  • In this episode I share the story of a black man that most people have never heard of, Mr. Charlie Sifford. Mr. Sifford was the first black golfer to earn his PGA card in 1960.


    Mr. Sifford is often known as the "Jackie Robinson of Golf" because like Jackie Robinson, he had to overcome mountain of racism and harassment just to play the game he enjoyed since he was a kid.



    If it was not for Mr. Sifford's heroic efforts, players like Tiger Woods, VJ Singh, Calvin Peete, Lee Elder and others may not have had the opportunity to play the game and achieve the things they have in the sport.



    During my research on Mr. Sifford I discovered some interesting things about his life that I had not known and I share those things in the episode.
