Communities have been the thing for the past couple of years—whether you’ve started a free group to connect with potential clients or launched a paid membership to bring like-minded people together. Everyone’s talking about how powerful they are… but let’s be honest, building an engaged community? That’s a whole different story.
The hardest part that I’ve personally found is in the beginning. When you’re pouring your energy into it, posting consistently, trying to spark conversations—only to hear crickets, it’s awkward, frustrating, and it makes you wonder, “Is this even working? And do people even care?”
And here’s where so many of us (myself included) get it wrong: We treat our community like another social media feed. But communities aren’t just about content—they’re about connection.
That’s why I’m so excited to talk to my good friend Jade Olivia today. She’s a community-building pro who knows exactly what it takes to turn a quiet, disengaged group into a buzzing, thriving space where people want to show up, participate, and support each other.
