the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 set a 40-hour week as the work standard for most industries and provided overtime pay for work beyond that time. Since then, anything less than that has been considered part-time.
Going into the future, this 40-hour work week will change dramatically. Currently, it is on top of people’s minds, especially with the fact that we are coming out of the covid pandemic. The massive shift from home to the workplace creates great tension because most people have been used to working from home. However, labor unions have started being proactive in changing this working framework. You must be aware of what’s coming. Otherwise, you will get caught up in the wave and become a victim of the change.
Join this conversation with your hosts, Brian and Danielle, as they chat about the history, current, and future projections of the 40-hour workweek. This discussion focuses more on the five key elements that will drive that change, and these are economics, technology, a shift in employee values, healthcare, and the availability of talent. You don’t want to miss this!
