Dr. Nate Brooks and host Joe Brinkmann open up about their shared experiences of living with a loved one with chronic illness and pain. Honest, raw, and personal, they share resources for counselors and communities, book recommendations, and practical suggestions for navigating all aspects of chronic illnesses; acknowledging grief, how to avoid personal burnout while caring for loved ones in pain, how to care for those in your life who suffer from chronic illness, and how to support others who are living with loved ones in chronic pain as a community.
Dr. Nate Brooks serves as an Associate Professor of Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a board member for the Christian Trauma Healing Network, and has published articles in Christianity Today, Biblical Counseling Coalition, and The Gospel Coalition. His book, "In Sickness and In Health" is set to publish Spring, 2025 - and we wait with eager anticipation for this wonderful resource to hit the shelves.
