Welcome and Introduction of Myself
PURPOSE
To assist and help life coaches and spiritual mentors utilize and understand that to guide and direct those we are entrusted with for spiritual formation we must use and exposit God’s word well in order to see people changed and transformed into the likeness of Christ.
Similar Podcasts – Hope for Change and The Care Ministry Podcast, one of my favorites is The Looney Doc with Dr. Paul Looney of Woodlands Church. He really unpacks God’s word and mental health in a fresh way.
WHY – to teach and instruct coaches by unpacking God’s word || using the expository method in coaching.
· Expository teaching involves directly presenting information, concepts, ideas, and principles - It is an efficient way to transmit large bodies of knowledge across many subject areas.
· In this care EXPOSITING the BIBLE – McDill in his work, “12 Essential Skills for Great Preaching” describes as “focusing on a specific passage of scripture and explains its meaning”
· Goal – “To convey the original message of the passage accurately, and to provide practical lessons for the audience.” Rooted in The Jewish tradition from a Rabbinical tradition and how Rabbis imparted the truth of the Torah to their disciples
· Any of this sound familiar??? It is how Jesus taught, lived and raised up all 12 of His disciples.
My WHY and My REASON – To help people break free and give coaches truth that can transform lives.

· Current Mental and Spiritual Health Crisis
· Mental health crisis - affecting individuals, families, and communities around the world. In the United States, the crisis includes:
· Increased depression and anxiety, especially among young people
· Rising rates of fatal suicide, particularly among older adults
· A loneliness epidemic
· Stressed and overwhelmed families
· Serious Mental Illness (SMI), which includes psychotic disorders, severe mood disorders, and anxiety disorders
Name is Based on John 10, specifically John 10:10b - “and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”
· The goal and purpose is to listen to His voice and then coach others to listen for his voice and connect people to both His Word and empowerment by His Spirit.
AUDIENCE
Spiritual Life Coaches and Care Mentors that I serve at Bayside and really any other life coach or those that coach and lead life coaches in giving spiritual guidance to people.
This is currently one of the fastest growing areas of church ministry - The field of spiritual life coaching is experiencing significant growth within churches, with more congregations incorporating it as a tool to help individuals deepen their faith, navigate personal challenges, and foster spiritual development, driven by a growing desire for personalized guidance and a more holistic approach to faith practice.
Tom Roehl writes an article in the AG Magazine entitled, “Enrichment” and states, The wisdom and perspective of others influences maturity and understanding.”
