www.GoodAthleteProject.com Today, Jim sits down with Dean Tolson, a former NBA professional basketball player and motivational speaker. He began his life in the ghettos of Kansas City, Missouri. As a promising young high school basketball player, despite being illiterate, he went on to play for the University of Arkansas where during this time, he also served in the U.S. Army and continued his education. Dean’s dream of playing professional basketball was realized when he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics. After 3 years in the NBA and playing overseas for 11 years, Dean returned to Arkansas to pursue a degree in History and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a master’s degree in Education. In his book, “Power Forward”, Dean shares his experiences and the importance of pursuing an education and reaching for your goals.
