I'm pleased to bring to the show the deep thinking of an artist I admire whose work continues to intrigue and challenge me.
Daniel Domig's work infiltrates the unconscious with alarming precision and emotional intensity. He contends with the insta-image and digital marketplace of immediatism that floods modern consciousness. His is a process-based art form exploring human connection, among other things. We spoke about these connections, the loss of poetry as a means of expression of the soul, and how paintings provide us hospitality. His art invites the viewer to linger and listen to the sounds of our own inner voices in dialogue with his images.
Daniel studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, Austria, where he currently lives with his family. He has exhibited widely in both Europe and North America over the past two decades and is currently shown in Sydney, Edinburgh, and New York among other locations.
