Steve Kulakowsky - Core Urban, Hamilton’s Mixed Use Innovator

As always, we start the show with a legal perspective from Peter Cass on his experiences with Mixed Use assets. We then hear from Frank Taylor and Jared Shier on their thoughts on Steve’s episode. Then to the big show, Steve and Frank discuss Steve’s beginnings in investment real estate. Steve's start began with him obtaining his Economics Degree at McMaster University and then telling his Dad he wants to be a builder. His father then gave him excellent advice and told Steve he needed to learn from the ground up as a laborer if this was a profession he really wanted to pursue, and that is exactly what Steve did! This is a fascinating story about incredible hard work and dedication, starting with no building knowledge, having come from humble hardworking beginnings and then making Core Urban Inc one of the most recognized builders / owner / operators of mixed use / residential / retail and office space in Hamilton today, all accomplished within 20 years. Steve and Frank share a deep passion for older 100 to 150 plus year old heritage style buildings and knew each other way back when and have a mutual respect for the desire to make old, new again!
