  • New Yorker Jenny Krantz shares with us the tragic, final phone messages left for her by her brother Mark (or M) on the day he took his life two years ago. With the help of her boyfriend, Jason, she then unlocks M's phone and discovers that he left her six voice memos, hinting at much larger mysteries surrounding his life and death, and starting with specific instructions to go to his bank and open a safe deposit box. Fearing what she might find, but driven to know the truth, Jen goes to the bank and our story begins.

About the Creator - Peter Mattei

About the Creator

Peter Mattei is a playwright, novelist, screenwriter, director and cable television series creator/showrunner. His critically-acclaimed one-hour series Outsiders (Hulu) was among the top-rated cable series in 2016/17. He has also written original pilots for HBO, Fox, A&E, CBS, and ABC, and created/directed an original documentary series for AMC. His Gotham Award-nominated microbudget feature was developed at the Sundance Directors Lab, produced by Robert Redford, premiered at Sundance and released by Miramax. His 2014 novel The Deep Whatsis was called a “red hot debut” by Publishers Weekly and published in six languages. Recently he has developed television projects with Lee Daniels Entertainment/20th Fox and for Topic Studios (Spotlight, Leave No Trace) and he has indie feature films in the works with the producers of Little Miss Sunshine and Mulholland Drive. Mattei is a graduate of Brown and the Yale School of Drama and currently lives in California and Austin, Texas.
